I love the academic calendar. Instead of repetition and routine, each day and each week is different. I love the excitement of each new quarter: new students, new classes, the implementation of new ideas. I also love the end of the quarter: the satisfaction of completion, as well as the excitement of new beginnings.
This end of this quarter has been especially enjoyable because my students did well on their exams. What a pleasure to realize that students had learned fairly demanding material and were able to perform well on their final.
